VI Sunday in the Ordinary Time - B

- Leviticus 13,1-2. 45-46 ;
- 1 Corinthians 10,31-11,1 ;
- Mk 1,40-45

Lord, if you want you can heal me

Is not this the misfortune to be a leper? In the West we do not have a clue, because nobody suffering from this disease. However, there are countries in the modern world, where it is still a serious problem. Working several years as a missionary in Africa, I had the opportunity many times to see lepers, talk to them and listen to their stories. The disease begins with a small yellow spot on the skin, which in time grow, they become harder and festering. You can not deal with them. Body in these places begins to rot and fall off. Most often there are attacked the fingers, toes, arms, sometimes cheeks or eye sockets ... lepers are haunted by their appearance, people move away from them, run away. They are aware that they became an outcast that they are no longer among the healthy. The affected part of the body -usually limbs or face- become crippled, rot, stink, fester, and after some time dead fall. It is a terrible disease. Only a miracle can make a difference, to find remedy.

With sin is the same. -as it begins with leprosy- it starts from small, sometimes imperceptible changes, yellowing of the skin. And then ... faster and faster, in an irreversible way, everything starts to rot, stink and fall out ... People are moving away from you, run away, you become an outcast. It seems to you (at the beginning), that it is harmless, that you can deal with it, make a difference ... That it's treatable. And the disease progresses faster and is spreading, causing increasing destruction and desolation. You become a leper. These scabs and wounds cover more and more areas of your life, and you have to deal with it without remedy. Cry then as soon as you se your situation: " Lord, if you like, only you can make me clean! " And you will hear: " I want to! be thou clean. "because he came to the sick and the lepers, the suffering and the sinners", and not to the smug and healthy bigheads.

There is only one basic principle ... sin just as leprosy can not be ignored !!! Unfortunately, in today's post-industrial and modernistic society, we do not want to admit that there is a leprosy of sin. And this is a disaster. The greatest sin and biggest misery of modern man is prideful belief that THERE IS NO SIN !!!

Christ is ready to show us the gesture of kindness: "Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out his hand, touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean ." But we in our pride and arrogance are not able to come to Him and as "a leper kneel down, and ask him: If you want, you can make me clean . " We say: "I do not have leprosy, I'm not sick, I do not need cleaning. I am pretty good".

man's ultimate destiny ...

"What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannot visualise; all that God has prepared for those who love Him …"
(1 Corinthians 2: 9)

Why? because the fullness of the EXISTENCE in God cannot be expressed, or imagine.

God created everything so that it exists. To each creature He gave something of Himself, He gave to each being "a piece" of His existence.
In a specific way it was given to the angels, in a different way to man, in other way to animals, or plants.

But every creature has received from God as the greatest gift "a little bit of existence. "For he created all things so that they might exist; the generative forces of the world are wholesome, and there is no destructive poison in them, and the dominion of Hades is not on earth." (Wisdom 1:14). And every creature was called to improve the existence, to connect to the EXISTENCE OF GOD ever deeper and more closely.

Unfortunately, original sin and all our personal sins put us away from this ideal, from the existence of God and in God. Actually in this life on earth, we participate only fractionally in the existence of God and were it not for God's Mercy we will go further and further from God, more and more in the direction of non-existence, in the direction of evil (and, therefore, the existence is good and its negation or privation is evil - Malum privatio bonum est). Evil is a destruction of existence in being (even only partial). So God is not the cause of evil (the depletion or weakening in existence of created beings). He cannot be, because He is the Pure Existence. Rather the rational and free beings (angels and man) destroy in themselves God's existence. And in this way they are "creating" evil, through their free and selfish choices.

God, then, to turn us back from the road to nowhere incarnated Himself and became a creature, so to heal in us the weakening existence (what we destroyed), to restore us to the fullness of His Existence. And this is our ultimate vocation, our final destination. This is what writes St. Paul in his first Letter to the Corinthians, what we cannot see, neither hear, or understand or express in human words. It is the fullness of EXISTENCE we are called to participate in.

This is exactly Heaven; eternal love, eternal happiness, eternal goodness, eternal beauty. Unum et Verbum, et bonum et pulchrum convertutntur. It is a participation in the fullness of EXISTENCE, the existence of God. This is also the reason that Christ can say, "I and the Father are one." The essence of God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is the same, i.e. EXISTENCE. And God calls us to participate in this UNITY, in God's EXISTENCE (for human unimaginable, unspeakable).

P.U.S.H.

Just Push

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.

The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did, day after day.

For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all of his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Since the man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind: "You have been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn't moved." Thus, he gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure.

These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. Satan said, "Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough." That's what the weary man planned to do, but decided to make it a matter of prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.

"Lord," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter.

What is wrong? Why am I failing?

The Lord responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so?

Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown; your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have.

True, you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. That you have done. Now, my friend, I will move the rock".

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains. When everything seems to go wrong ...just P.U.S.H.!

When the job gets you down ... just P.U.S.H.!

When people don't react the way you think they should just P.U.S.H

When your money is "gone" and the bills are due... just P.U.S.H!

When people just don't understand you ... just P.U.S.H.

P= Pray
U= Until
S= Something
H= Happens

Pass this on to all the loved ones and friends who may need it; they may get it just in time. Truly, great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget!

Just P.U.S.H.

5th Sunday of the Ordinary Time – B

Job 7,1-4.6-7
1Cor 9,16-19.22-23
Mark 1,29-39

Sunday reflection

Today's miracle occurred on a Saturday. Since Jesus was a Jew, He had spent the whole morning in the synagogue at worship. Do you worship weekly? If no, Christ says to you, "Gimmeabreak."

The miracle site was Caphernaum. Since Caphernaum was Peter's hometown, he wisely invited Jesus home for a lunch. Incidentally, one suspects Peter's house was a welcoming home. Is ours?

Even before the Master finishes His lunch, Peter presents the request. Notice Peter had no hesitation in asking Jesus for a cure. He knew He was able to do it. Why then do we drag our feet in bringing our needs to Christ? We know that He is able to do it!

Today all of us are told that when we are suffering, in any manner whatsoever, we must reach out to the presence of God in every aspect of life. We believe that He is present for us and with us through it all. We believe that He cries out with us sharing our pain. Now, we must use this special presence of the Lord as a way to come closer to the God who loves us, Who was one of us, Who died for us and Who gave his life, eternal life, to us.

So we ask our God, "When the difficulties of our human condition weigh heavily upon us, dear Lord and Divine Lover, teach us how to pray."

illusions ...

Mercy without justice ....
Love without Truth ...

Fourth, serious crisis in the Church, (about what Bishop. Athanasius Schneider is talking) is the result of forcing the false, and even diabolical understanding of mercy without justice, love without truth, or even tolerance for evil. So unfortunately it exist today, these concepts of love, mercy, tolerance are operating today without any reference to truth, justice, an objective assessment of the human moral act.

Pope Benedict XVI wrote the encyclical "Caritas in Veritate" or Charity in Truth. Unfortunately, today's heralds of mercy and tolerance in isolation from the truth and justice forget about the second part of the title.
Under banners of love and mercy they promote the most perverse attitudes and behaviors, where the truth is rejected, ridiculed and distorted.

And the Satan, who is the father of all lies and the  champion of confusion is very happy.

Mercy without justice is the mother of dissolution.
Justice without mercy is cruelty.

Evil inventions ...

Tolerance of evil

Sorry for what I will write, but according to my observations and experience, "niceness" and falsely understood tolerance the "tolerance of evil" are the two most genuine, the most clever a the most dangerous inventions of Satan. The mercy without TRUTH is diabolical, the tolerance of EVIL is exactly what the EVIL is searching for. Unhappily so many people let themselves be duped by Devil.
